7 Simple Keys To Becoming Truly Successful!

God wants you to be enormously and wildly successful!

Think about it — He has stacked everything extraordinarily in your favor:

  • He made you more than a conquerors through Christ (Rom. 8:37)
  • He always leads you in triumph in Christ (2 Cor. 2:14)
  • He has given you everything you need for life and godliness (2 Pet. 1:3)
  • He has blessed you with every spiritual blessing (Eph. 1:3)
  • The Holy Spirit helps you in your weakness (Rom. 8:26)
  • His strength is perfected in your weakness (2 Cor. 12:9)
  • He forgives and cleanses you from every sin (1 John 1:9)
  • He endues you with power from on high (Acts 1:8)
  • He works every thing for good for those who love Him (Rom. 8:28)

Does this sound like a God who wants you to fail?

So, why are so few Christians living lives that are wildly successful?

I believe there are two main reasons: First, many have accepted the Devil’s definition of success. He is the father of all lies and has set up a false target of wealth, power, and/or fame as the ultimate signs of success. This is of course a lie. Jesus said that life does not consist in an abundance of possessions. Daniel said that God is the one who sets up kings and throws down others. Solomon said that we are all vapors and when we vanish no one will remember us long.

Second, many don’t believe that God wants them to be truly successful and so they settle for a mediocre and easily attainable life. Honestly ask yourself, “God had all eternity to plan out my life, is this the best He could come up with? Or I have I simply settle for much, much less?”

Here are 7 simple & Biblical keys to becoming truly successful:

1. Understand what the Bible says is true success

If you ask Christians, “Who is the most success person who ever walked on this planet?” 9 times out of 10 they will answer “Jesus.” Yet, think about it, how did Jesus’ life end up? He was a homeless, penniless, beaten, convicted criminal who was publicly executed. Yet, one of the last things He said was, “It is finished.” Here Jesus shows us the real definition of success:

Success is finishing what God has called you to do

2. Know what God has called you to do with your life

If you don’t know what God has called you to do with your life, you cannot be truly successful. Paul told the Ephesians, “Do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Success is going to be different for each one of because no two of us have been created with the same identical calling. So let me say it again – If you don’t know what God has called you to do, you cannot be successful!

3. Submit to God’s will

Knowing God’s will is only one part of being successful. You also have to be willing to do it. Knowing God’s will is only helpful if you intend on doing it. We must be willing to do what God says. That’s why Jesus taught us to pray, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” One of the real differences between earth and heaven is that there is no resistance to God’s will in heaven.

4. Get some wisdom

The Bible says, “Wisdom is the principle thing; therefore get wisdom” (Pr. 4:7). There are 2 primary ways to get wisdom:

1. Pray for it: “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you.” Wisdom is there for the asking. It is something that God delights to give. He is eager to give it. I believe He is more inclined to bless those who pray for wisdom because it means you’ll be wise everything else He gives you. It would be foolish to not pray for wisdom!

2. Hang out with it: “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” Take a look at your circle of friends, are you the wisest one in the group. If so, you may need to elevate your circle of friends if you want to gain more wisdom. It’s really a simple principle: If you hang out with losers — you’ll lose!

5. Don’t ignore your DESIGN

Contrary to everything you’ve been told since you were a little kid, you can’t do anything you set your mind to. I take that back – you can be a failure at anything you want to. God designed you for a unique and very specific purpose. You are a unique composition of disposition, emotions, strengths, inclinations, gifts & natural abilities — all crafted together into a masterpiece by the Creator of the universe. God made you on purpose for a unique purpose!

6. Be humble

God opposes the proud, but He gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). Life is tough enough without God being opposed to your life. God cannot support what He is opposed to. However, if we will be humble, God will give us grace and we will succeed beyond what we deserve. We will find His mighty power at work in us.

7. Stay Calm

People with the ability to stay calm in the midst of difficulty will always be more successful than those who panic and give into worry, fear and crisis. They reflect the peace that passes all understanding and comes from a heart that truly trust God.

Don’t panic even when you fail. David counseled, “Do not fret — it only causes harm.” Solomon observed, “He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.” He applied that to making mistakes in Ecclesiastes 10:4, “If your boss is angry at you, don’t quit. A quiet spirit can overcome even great mistakes.” Jesus asked, “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”

Question for Consideration: What has God called you uniquely to do with your life? In what way do you want to be successful? (Leave a comment below)
